About this outing
Magic is running wild at Historic Scotland sites this October, and plants and trees are sprouting where they shouldn't. On this self-guided family trail you hunt for them around the castle, answer the clues and earn a sticker, picking up the old Scottish stories about each plant's magical powers along the way.
Runs 10 October to 1 November 2026, included in castle admission. The castle opens at 9.30am daily. Adult £23.50 online or £26 walk-up; child (7 to 15) £11.50 online or £13 walk-up. Free for Historic Scotland members. Booking online in advance is recommended.
