The Small Bright Things
Our view
“Free Fringe sensory theatre for under-threes is genuinely rare, and this one is non-verbal, which means it works just as well for pre-walkers as it does for curious two-year-olds. The room holds only 40 people, so even though booking is free, grab your spot early — Fringe audiences with babies tend to snap these up quickly. Worth noting it's listed as non-ticketed, so check the booking link to see exactly how they manage entry on the day.”
About this outing
A 45-minute sensory theatre show for babies and toddlers aged 0–3, set inside a softly glowing forest of mushroom lights, puppetry and nature soundscapes. There are no words — two Mushroom Keepers guide little ones through a landscape little ones can crawl into and explore at their own pace. It runs daily at the Central Youth Hostel on Haddington Place from 15–21 August 2026, with a second showing on most days at 12:15.
