“The preview performances on 5 and 6 August are £8 rather than £11, which makes a meaningful difference if you've got two or three kids in tow — worth booking those if the dates work. Be aware there's audience participation, so if you have a child who absolutely does not want to be picked on, sit near the back. Studio Five holds 87, so it's not a huge room — sightlines are fine throughout.”
About this outing
James Campbell claims to have invented proper stand-up comedy for children back in 2001, and after a decade away writing books and raising his own kids, he's back at the Fringe with a rebooted show. Expect an hour of genuine stand-up — not pantomime, not puppet-based — pitched squarely at children aged five and up. The promised material includes exploding penguins, seventeen ways to eat jam, and songs about the worms in your dog's bottom. The show runs daily at 12:15 from 5–9 August 2026 at Assembly George Square Studios.
