Cramond Beach & Foreshore
About this outing
Sandy beach and tidal foreshore at the mouth of the River Almond, 5 miles west of Edinburgh city centre. At low tide you can walk the causeway to Cramond Island. The adjacent village has a pub, café, and the Dalmeny Estate walks.
Check tide times before visiting Cramond Island — the causeway floods and the Coast Guard issues regular rescues. Free parking in Cramond village car park (can fill up on sunny weekends). Adjacent Haugh Park has a good playground.
