About this outing
Guided pony trekking on endangered Exmoor ponies in the Pentland Hills, run by Edinburgh University Exmoor Pony Trekking Society — a student-led non-profit. Open to all abilities including families with children. Ponies go straight from field to hills, no roads involved. Based at Swanston Farm. Seasonal: Pentlands treks run September–May; June–August treks move to the Ochil Hills.
This is a university student society — not a commercial children's class provider. No age-tiered programme; book individual treks via exmoorponytrekking.co.uk. Active season in Pentlands is Sept–May only. [2026-07-15: published from import; class days vary — check organiser website for the current timetable]
