About this outing
Guided pony trekking on endangered Exmoor ponies in the Pentland Hills, run by Edinburgh University Exmoor Pony Trekking Society — a student-led non-profit. Open to all abilities including families with children. Ponies go straight from field to hills, no roads involved. Based at Swanston Farm. Seasonal: Pentlands treks run September–May; June–August treks move to the Ochil Hills.
Run by a university student society, not a commercial riding school — book individual treks rather than a course. The Pentlands (Swanston Farm) season runs mid-September to May; in summer the operator moves to Glendevon in the Ochils.
